Scammer Alert! A Female Warrior
SCAMMER ALERT:
AVOID TRADES WITH **name deleted per forum policy** First off, I will whole heartily take responsibility for my actions. Should have double checked the screen before making the trade, but have learned, never try to vend in Guild Wars while intoxicated. Why the **** does this game have to end up like every other mmorpg out there where every time you turn your back someone is trying to scam you. In the last 2 days, this is the 10th person who has tried to pull this bs on me (and unfortunately due to my altered state was Successful). My question is, does Anet do anything to these people? I mean come on, all they do is make people not want to play the game. Yes, I know, whenever you have an online game there is the chance of this happening, but if there are no consequences for actions, what is to stop it. I have submitted the screen shots to Anet in hopes of something being done, but who knows if they will, or ever will do anything about the low lifes that play this game. if nothing's done about it - I have no problem asking anybody reading this to PM this person at random just to say that many people know what he did. If I see him in Lion's Arch selling or buying I'll personally announce not to do business with them. It's not much but it's the only thing I can think of. Sorry to hear about it.

That same thing happened to one of my good friends who was ripped off by a player by the name of name removed per forum policy who agreed to pay 18k for an axe, then somehow switched it to 18 gold before my friend hit submit, total bullshit like this is what turns people away from online games, its bad enough that our society is tainted by real life crooks, now the so called escapes from this society like mmo's are just as crooked as real life, now there is no escape into a world of bliss and graphics, its all about the best weapons and the most gold, and how many noobs you can own,its really very sickening,I wish somehow there was a server with only honest players who liked to interact in ways that arent abusive and hateful, its sickening just sickening

Why is this thread still here? Don't we have some no witch hunt policy....?
A: He won't be banned. B: People will still trade with him. Uh yeah Xue thats cool! Who doesn't love spam when they're trying to trade. You getting spammed is your fault. I don't want to hear any of that no one deserves to get scammed! It's like walking around a dark ally with a stack of 100s sticking out your back pocket. Also this is the wrong forum.... |

I guess I'll console myself with the thought that it means that you would theoreticaly deserve to get scammed as well. |

I'll pass the word on that player to my guild-mates and my mother (yeah my mom plays RPGs, a side-effect of watching me play computer-games over the years). I hate jerks who either abuse bugs (exploiters) or just won't be honest and fair in-game. I sell stuff at half what the dealers sell just to get rid of it at a decent price since most of the economy fails, but people who rip-off others are just jerks.
I do think it would be nice if the department at ANet that deals with botters/hackers would also deal with this. You have solid proof like those screenshots that somebody admits to scamming, that player loses that gold and it goes to whomever was scammed. I am SURE ANet has pfile editors, LOL! |

Punishing scammers would be stupid. You have to draw a line somewhere and it would be purely opinion.
Scamming is morally wrong but nothing more. I'm not supporting scammers, everyday I help multiple people avoid possible scams. Today I held 900k as a middle man for a trade. If someone gets scammed they didn't take proper precautions. |

I love how they all act like they don't know who you are right after they switch districts. A friend of mine was scammed by N T O (aka High Chuntaya), so right after he switches characters and is like "what? who r u noob?", etc. It's quite funny how they try to get out of it.

Hahaha You're such a noob. Don't mind trying to get him banned, ANet doesn't ban someone else because you made a stupid mistake.

Pretty much deserved getting scammed if you didn't bother checking the amount of gold they put in. Gotta suspect something if you suddenly see the trade window flash and reappear (meaning they modified whatever was in before) I've never gotten scammed before though, many people attempted to but failed. Basically, when ever you trade with high end items or any items, check what they have in trade window before accepting, only takes 5 seconds to check.
And who the hell pays 900k for an item? |
